Save Tampa History is an effort to support a urban lifestyle that is historic & sustainable by offering restored Ybor City Homes for rent. The most significant feature of these homes is that they are historic, built 100 years ago, and rather than tear down to build all new, filling landfills, consuming newly timbered trees, energy for transportation and other resources, we have adapted these for re-use in a modern environment. That's a huge step in avoiding another scar on our planet's face.
Moreover by living in historic neighborhoods near the urban core, our families avoid contributing to the slash and bulldoze sprawl of the modern subdivision developers.
Instead of simply flipping and selling the restored homes, Save Tampa History leases the houses to responsible and creative tenants, as a way to help those families have respectable housing, and concurrently to bring good families back to Ybor City. Our hope is that both the business and the residential community will begin to flourish in Ybor City as the old houses and the sense of community are restored.
